To promote professionalism among Public Service Human Resource Practitioners.


 

Uganda Public Service Human Resource Managers Net (UPS-HRMneet) is an Association for human resource officers of the Public Service of Uganda. It aims at promoting the profession in a manner that transforms service delivery in the Uganda Public Service, in partnership with Ministry of Public Service as the parent ministry, similar associations and relevant stakeholders.

Strategic Direction

In its drive towards nurturing HR practitioners for extraordinary Public Service delivery through promotion of professionalism among Public Service HR Practitioners, coupled with strengthening professional development, communication, networking and building synergies with other HR practitioners in the corporate world, UPS-HRMnet is guided a five year strategic plan. The strategic goals and objectives of the UPS-HRMnet in the five (5) year period; FY 2017/18 to 2021/22 are highlighted below



Professionalisation of HR Cadre

* Develop and implement a plan to enhance professionalism among HRM Officers (HROs) in the Public Service;
* Establsih a Community of Practice and knowledge management modalities Institute modalities for engaging in training, technical assistance, implementation of development projects.


Public Service Delivery

* Develop inhouse service delivery standards for HR Officers as they deliver services
* Advocate for conducive working conditions for HR professionals across the Uganda Public Service.
* Serve as a resource and information base for current and prospective HROs in the Uganda Public Service and professional institutions


Resource Mobilisation and Development

* Fundraise for development projects which are within the Uganda Government development framework
* Use the UPS-HRMnet as a platform for enlisting technical, logistical and financial support
* Identify feasible strategies for maximally benefiting from members who are seasoned HRM professionals


Networks and Synergies

* Develop a mechanism for better networking among the HR professionals
* Establish mutually beneficial collaboration that will support the growth and impact of the UPS-HRMnet
